Trans-Fem*
Portland Trans-Fem* is part of Trans People Together, a nonprofit organization focused on helping trans people in the Pacific Northwest find support, friendship, and community.
Our group welcomes anyone who identifies along the trans-feminine spectrum, including transgender women, trans femmes, non-binary people, and people who are questioning or still exploring their gender.
We facilitate free, peer-led support groups in the Portland–Vancouver metro area, as well as online meetings that are open to people anywhere. We also have an active and welcoming Discord community, along with local events organized by members of the community.
You do not need to be out, medically or socially transitioning, present in any particular way, or plan to transition in order to belong here. We respect everyone’s identity and experience, and you will never need to prove that you are “trans enough” to join us.
Are you trans-masculine? Our Vancouver support group is open to people of all genders. We also have a Discord server that is open to all trans people, in addition to our server for trans femmes.

Group Intentions and Etiquette
Our group has one guideline: be kind.
In a peer-support space, kindness can look like:
- Pausing between speakersThis gives people time to process and helps make sure someone has finished speaking before another person begins. Don’t be afraid of silence.
- Practicing active listening and being presentWhen someone finishes sharing, take a moment to reflect on what they said, why they may have chosen to share it, and whether you understand their experience.
- Taking care of your needsDo what you need to take care of yourself if a discussion becomes too upsetting. For example, you are always welcome to step away from the group, take some time to ground yourself, and return when you feel ready.
By keeping these ideas in mind, you can help to create a space where everyone can receive meaningful and effective support.
Zoom Tips
Please keep yourself muted when you are not speaking to help reduce background noise. A facilitator may mute you if background noise is coming through, but you are always welcome to unmute when you are ready to speak.
Using Gallery View can make it easier to see everyone in the group at once.
Facilitation
